Cheryl Alderson, O.D. is originally from Toronto, Canada. She received her doctorate from the prestigious University of California Berkeley School of Optometry. She was the recipient of numerous awards including the UC Berkeley International Scholarship, the Alcon Award for Clinical Excellence, and the VSP Scholarship Award for top patient management. She provides eye examinations to all ages and her passion is children’s eye examinations. She is an InfantSEE provider who provides free screenings for babies between the ages of 6-12 months old. Dr. Alderson is fluent in French and speaks conversational Spanish.

Charles Dominguez, O.D., F.A.A.O. received his doctorate from the University of California Berkeley School of Optometry. He went on to complete his fellowship in Cornea Contact Lens at the world renowned UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute. Dr. Dominguez specializes in complex contact lens fittings for patients with corneal diseases such as keratoconus and irregular astigmatism, and was one of the first optometrists certified to treat glaucoma in the State of California. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the RGPLI award for excellence in contact lens fitting. He is also a lecturer and consultant on dry eye syndrome with leading companies such as Allergan and Bausch & Lomb. Dr. Dominguez is fluent in Spanish. Most importantly, Dr. Dominguez believes that vision is a right, not a privilege.

Joseph Ridenour, O.D. received his doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry. He provides eye examinations to all ages and has a particular interest in contact lenses and ocular disease. He speaks conversational Spanish. On the weekends, Dr. Ridenour can be found working on his muscle cars and enjoying the beach.

Alejandra (Office Manager)

Alejandra is our friendly office manager. Some of her favorite things about working in our office include being able to help patients see and working with her staff.

Outside the office, you can find Alejandra spending time with her 3 kids, going to the movies, taking trips to Vegas and doing makeup as a makeup artist.

Sandra (Optician)

Sandra is one of our kind opticians. Some of her favorite things about working at Modern Eyewear Optometry include working together with the doctors to help patients see their best and getting creative with selecting eyewear to accommodate patients vision aid needs and style.

When she’s not in our office, Sandra can be found enjoying time with her daughter, Irene, as well as dancing, singing, and having drawing contests at home.

Maribel (Optician)

Maribel is ready to help you pick out your perfect frame. Styling patients in comfortable yet fashionable eyewear and 2020 vision achieved with glasses or contacts are what she likes most about working in our office.

Outside the office, you can find Maribel spending time with her dog Cali, camping, family and taking road trips.

Jazmin (Optician)

Jazmin is an amazing optician who loves to help you choose the right style of glasses for you. She truly loves the many learning opportunities and positive environment that Modern Eyewear Optometry has to offer.

In her free time, you can find Jazmin enjoying movie nights with her family, a stroll at the park with her nieces or dinner and cocktails with friends!

Alhine (Optician)

Alhine is one of our awesome opticians. Her favorite thing about working at Modern Eyewear Optometry is working with the doctors and helping patients choose the perfect frame.

Outside of work she enjoys going out with friends, being with her family, and going to concerts.

Melissa (Receptionist)

Melissa is one of our friendly faces behind the front desk at Modern Eyewear Optometry. She most enjoys interacting with patients, working in a friendly environment and the fact that the doctors really care about their patients.

When she’s not at the office, Melissa enjoys singing, reading and listening to music, especially KPOP.
